In the past post where i mentioned about our Star of Decade Aishwarya Rai and unveiling of Amitabh Bachchan’s wax model of Madame Tussauds Hong Kong, i have already added many images from IIFA 2009. It included Aishwarya Rai, Abhishek Bachchan and Amitabh Bachchan. The whole family except for Jaya Bachchan and i have no clue where she was, during the whole function. However i recently got some more pics from the whole festival of IIFA 2009. These set of images include the pics from the last day as well where Aishwarya Rai wore a lemon saaree and looked all the more gorgeous. I really really love her a lot. But i guess after her marriage to Abhishek, i need to respect the couple now rather than show off my one sided love. LOL I’m just kidding obviously! They are the perfect couple and i really respect them.

Alright, so here are few more pics from the 2009 International Indian Film Academy Awards that took place on June 11th’2009 and went on till June 13th’2009 at Macau, China.

Aishwarya Rai will be soon off to The Royal Ascot Race Event at Ascot, United Kingdom. It’s a great British occasion and i am guessing Aishwarya’s new found taste in great clothing will make her the most talked celebrity at the event. Fingers crossed!

Someone claimed these to be Paparazzi pics but they clearly do not have any clue what exactly the word “Paparazzi” means. Paparazzi is a plural term (paparazzo being the Italian singular form) for photographers who take unstaged and/or candid photographs of celebrities caught unaware. Paparazzi take photos of celebrities at moments when the subjects do not expect to be photographed, such as when they shop, walk through a city, eat at a restaurant or swim or lay on the beach.

Most websites will throw in so many unrelated words just to get you all excited and in the end you find nothing to meet your expectations. Anyways, moving on to the subject, first of all, these are not Paparazzi pics as you can see, both Aishwarya and Abhishek are perfectly aware that they are being photographed.

Secondly and much more importantly, Aishwarya Rai is looking angel in that lime lemony suit of hers. She really is very very beautiful. Okay without much ado, here are the pics that were taken recently in Bhopal, India.

Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan were in Bhopal for some personal reasons and this was to be their personal visit. Of course celebrities of such stature can’t find any privacy in there personal vacations. Pity!

But Oh My God! Aishwarya looks stunningly beautiful. Doesn’t she?

Aishwarya Rai first appeared at Cannes Film Festival, right back in year 2002. Although it was a great success and moment of pride for the India’s ruling actress, but the first moment was nothing short of fashion disaster for her. Although, the whole India looked on, it was probably a forgettable visit for Aishwarya back then. But i guess that was it. Thereafter she has been a part of Cannes very regularly and with each passing year she has been getting better and better. One has to agree that the 2002 disaster was all a mistake by the stylist and not Aishwarya Rai, but i guess that now she realizes the tricks of the trade and she is really is doing pretty well.

Just a week back, dated 13th May’2009, commenced the 62nd Cannes Film Festival. I have to be honest here. Aishwarya Rai looked jaw-dropping stunning this time around. In last seven years, not only she did get better, but she has mastered the art of walking on the red carpet. She looked so gorgeous and despite all the famous celebrities of Hollywood walking down that red carpet, Aishwarya Rai was the real head turner.

Aishwarya opted for a strapless white Roberto Cavalli train gown at the opening of the 62nd International Cannes Film Festival on 13th May and she looked stunningly super with Abhishek Bachchan who wore white suit to accompany his wife. Dressed from head to toe in high fashion, she wore red peeptoe heels, Swarovski red box clutch, and Swarovski jewels that consisted of teardrop earrings and two rings. Her hair, with auburn highlights, was elegantly styled in an intricate updo with side swept bangs. She wore silver eyeshadow, cat-eye liner, multiple sweeps of black mascara and glossy bronze lip color. The L’Oreal brand ambassador, Aishwarya was joined on the red carpet by the newly announced L’Oreal spokesperson, Elizabeth Banks. Elizabeth looked great in red alongside Aishwarya Rai. They came for the premier of the movie “Up” that was the opening movie of Palais De Festival in Cannes, France, this year. There are a total of 20 movies this year that are competing for the prestigious Palme d’Or which will be awarded on May 24.

Next day, May 14th’2009, Aishwarya and Abhishek came again at Cannes for the screening of the movie Chun Feng Chen Zui De Ye Wan (Spring Fever). This time around, Aishwarya looked heavenly beautiful. Aishwarya wore a blue Elie Saab Spring 2009 Couture gown this time around. As per the industry estimates, this particular gown was over Rs. 50 Lacs (5 million INR). That’s pretty expensive for a dress but then, Aishwarya is the highest paid Indian actress, so she definitely can afford to buy such dresses. Abhishek, this time wore a blackish colored suit. The two obviously looked great as a couple once again but Aishwarya’s dressing sense and choice of clothing really made her stand out from rest of the celebrities.

Alright, i have always believed that pictures speak louder than words. So here are some of the pics from the Cannes Film Festival wherein Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan made their presence felt.

Also present at the opening ceremony was Cannes Jury member from India, the very gorgeous Sharmila Tagore, wearing a yellow saree. She elegantly greeted all with folded hands Namastey during the customary introduction of the jury members. She still is one of the most charming person from India.

Various Indian designers have been talking about Aishwarya Rai’s appearance at Cannes. They all are spell bounded at the moment. “The Hindu” caught up with few designers:

Fashion Designer Amit GT said “Aishwarya carried the gown really well and looked beautiful. She has great presence that fits her perfectly in the international fashion circuit. She carried off that gown with confidence and walked the red carpet with aplomb. A lot of people had criticized her when she made her debut at Cannes but hits and misses are a part of life and this time she has proved fashion critics wrong with her impeccable dressing sense.“

Designer Raakesh Agarvwal said “When she was criticized for her bad dressing sense at Cannes, the person who should have been blamed was her stylist. But I guess now she has learnt the tricks of the trade and is doing really well. It’s important to know how to behave with your clothes on the red carpet. Walking on a red carpet is an art and you can say that she has mastered the art over the period of seven years. Posing rightly for the camera, maintaining eye contact, topped up with a perfect smile is what makes the best red carpet look. One has to learn all these things and then you can look glamorous in anything – that’s what Aishwarya has done.“

Designer Abdul Haimer said “Aishwarya, whose dress would have cost nothing less than Rs.5 million as per industry estimates, looked as though she was wearing a wedding gown minus the veil”

So i guess everyone is feeling very happy this time around.  I think Aishwarya Rai deserves all the appreciation she is getting!

Abhishek Aishwarya Anniversary

As many of Aishwarya’ s and Abhishek’s regular fans would be knowing, the couple got married on 20th April 2007. So this 20th, they celebrated their second marriage anniversary.

I know it’s 27th April today and i should have updated this website with their wedding anniversary news a week back. But i was very busy last few days. And all spare time was eaten up Indian Premiere League 20-20 cricket that’s going in South Africa. So, i really didn’t get anytime to update this blog. Anyways, as the famous saying goes on “Better late then never”.

Okay, so first of all, we would like to wish Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan a wonderful and blessed second marriage anniversary. We always wish that you truly live as a happily married couple.

Now for the readers. Earlier, there surfaced some rumors that the making of “Raavan” has been suspended for some time due to Mani Ratnam’s health issues. Apparently, the rumor turned out to be true. Ratnam, who was admitted to a private hospital, following breathing difficulty and dizziness, has been advised by doctor to rest for a while. As a result the schedule of Raavan has been slightly pushed ahead. So this gave Aishwarya and Abhishek, a chance to get away and spend some, much needed quality time together.

Aishwarya and Abhishek took a week-long holiday to an undisclosed destination. It has to be some exotic location in United States or Europe. But since it’s undisclosed so i better not start guessing. But what i do hope is that they spend a good time in there which this couple really needs.

After their marriage, the couple went for a month long “Honeymoon to Europe“. But their honeymoon was often disturbed by L’Oreal advertisement and endorsement commitments and the launching and premier of Mani Ratnam’s “Guru“. So you see, thy didn’t have a great time due to overloaded working at that time. Last year, when it was time for their first marriage anniversary, it was again busy schedule that almost kept them away from each other. Abhishek Bachchan at that time was shooting for “Dostana” in Miami, Florida. Aishwarya Rai had to join him there in order to celebrate their first wedding anniversary. This year they were supposed to be working again but Mani Ratnam somehow managed to let them take an off. So now probably you understand why i have been mentioning “a much needed quality time”? Also, you may also realize that being a star and such celebrity status, is hard to achieve and even harder to keep. The couple even refused earlier to Mani Ratnam’s offer of a week off. According to a source “Mani Ratnam had suggested he’d start the schedule later to give Abhishek and Aishwarya a chance to take time off for their anniversary. But the couple had refused. It’s only now when the schedule is pushed ahead that they’ve decided to take that anniversary holiday”.

I do believe that you all remember Mani Ratnam’s superhit movie “Guru”. Ace cinematographer Rajiv Menon captured some really beautiful moments between Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan in that movie. It still is one of my favorite movies, till date.

Rajiv Menon is now all set to direct a new movie, with Aishwarys Rai and Abhishek as it’s leading stars. So we all get to see the couple once again in a bollywood flick. That would really be a treat for many. This movie has been titled “Dhun“. Rajiv in a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama already confirmed as he said “Yes…Abhishek and Aishwarya are starring in my next directorial venture titled Dhun. It’s a film where music plays a very important role. The film goes on floors sometime in June this year.” So that’s it. June 2009, hot weather, grab some soft drinks, some popcorns and a seat in your nearby movie hall and watch “Dhun”. That’s one of the better ways to beat the heat

However, the movie already went into some questioning by media as the rumors began that “Dhun” is pretty similar to Jaya Bachchan and Amitabh Bachchan starrer “Abhimaan“. I hope you all remember watching it. The storyline looks pretty much same as on now. But Rajiv Menon has already cleared that there is no similarity except the fact that the characters in his film also play musicians. Even Abhishek Bachchan supported his clarification on the fact that “Dhun” has nothing to do with “Abhimaan”. So that rumor should end now.

The film is coming from the production house of Eros International. But what interests me more is that the music will be provided by none other than the Oscar winner A.R. Rahman. Some people might be questioning if A.R. Rahman can recreate the magic in his music that we all heard and appreciated in “Guru”. I bet he can. He is an Oscar winner. And he is king of music. He surely will provide even better music for “Dhun”. Just can’t wait for the music release of the movie Dhun.

Honestly, i am really looking forward to the movie already. I just hope the movie has something good to offer to it’s audience. Specially after success of “Guru”, people might have high expectations from the movie and from the best couple in bollywood, Aishwarya and Abhishek Bachchan. Would love to see them on screen, once again!

The title if misread will definitely give you goosebumps. No the couple ain’t splitting in real life but yes in the reel life. Bollywood’s most beautiful couple, Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan, will have to watch each other play the role of spouse to another in the upcoming film “Sarkar Raj.”

Aishwarya Rai, the 1994 Miss World, and Abhishek Bachchan, son to legendary Bollywood actors Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan were married in April of this year but when they share the screen in “Sarkar Raj” they will be anything but friendly.

Aishwarya will play the role of an independent woman caught up in the corporate world and power games. According to director Ram Gopal Varma, “We’ve worked hard on the look. The glamour of Aishwarya in ‘Sarkar Raj’ will be that she won’t be glamorous. She’s so intrinsically beautiful it will be a challenge to make her look simple. But I want her to look like nothing she has done so far.”

In many ways the film, a sequel to “Sarkar,” is similar to “The Godfather” with the political maneuverings inside an underworld family.

We just hope that Sarkar Raj gets as much audience support as Sarkar itself did get. Of course Ram Gopal Varma will be hoping for the success similar to what “The Godfather” got!

Abhishek Bachchan said his wife is uncomplicated and “always smiling,” in a newspaper interview published Wednesday, describing how he met and fell in love with Bollywood beauty Aishwarya Rai.

Bachchan and Rai were married in April in what Indian media dubbed “The Wedding of the Century” — an extravagant affair that had photographers and cameramen camped for days outside their homes in suburban Mumbai.

The two became friends when they worked together on the 2000 movie “Dhai Akshar Prem Ke,” but cupid didn’t strike until they filmed “Dhoom 2″ five years later.

Soon after Dhai Akshar Prem Ke, they were paired together again in Kuch Naa Kaho (2003) but it wasn’t till Aishwarya and he jived together to the beats of Kajra Re in Bunty Aur Babli, right under the eyes of dad Amitabh Bachchan, that the sparks began to fly. The romantic drama, Umrao Jaan, was supposed to be their big film together. When it hit the floors Abhishek and Aishwarya had not started dating, but well before its release they were known, though not acknowledged, to be an item. The film, though made with a lot of passion, failed to stir audiences and onscreen chemistry between the couple remained lackluster. Dhoom 2 shortly followed Umrao Jaan. Though Abhishek was not paired opposite Aishwarya the two spent a lot of time together on the sets and that seems to have done it. “We started dating in the latter half of the film as ‘Dhoom 2′ was shot for over a year-and-a-half,” he said.

“There are so many things I love about Aishwarya. She’s very human and unaffected and down-to-earth,” Bachchan told The Times. “A simple little girl who is always smiling and that’s very endearing.”

But he said it was difficult to pinpoint when he fell in love.

“There was no defining moment as such,” said Bachchan. “I cannot explain it in words.”

Has life changed after marriage? Bachchan says Rai was pressuring him to change his diet. “She tries to make me eat healthy food as she knows I have unhealthy habits,” said Bachchan.

Often described as one of the most beautiful women in the world, Rai, 33, is a former Miss World and a brand ambassador for leading cosmetic companies.

Bachchan, 31, is one of India’s most popular actors and comes from Bollywood royalty — his father, Amitabh, and mother, Jaya, are among India’s acting elite.

Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan definitely make a great pair.

Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai , made a quiet return to Mumbai on Wednesday after a month-long honeymoon in Europe.

Abhishek and Ash were personally received by Jaya Bachchan at the airport who had booked a private villa in Florence for the couple before they went to Cannes.

Their honeymoon was highlighted by several controversies and date problems.

Reportedly, they skipped the premiere of their film Guru in Cannes that has not gone well with the film director, Mani Ratam .

Ash and Abhishek seemed content to be in each other’s company and had their own plans of flying back home the very same day.

The other cast members of  “Guru” attended the red-carpet event and also addressed the audiences and the media at the festival.

Sources say that Ash and Abhishek believe that they are long done with the film and any publicity exercise at this point is of no use.

Aishwarya Rai’s commitment with L’Oreal halted their honeymoon for a while. She was sighted posing for pictures with her L’Oreal counterparts. Ash also did not take part in the promotional events for her next film, Jodha Akhbar.

Supposedly, Abhishek and Ash would be flying to Yorkshire on June 7 to attend the International Film Festival.

Abhishek is expected to start shooting for his next film Laaga Chunari Mein Daag on June 11.

On the other hand, Aishwarya would soon be seen shooting for Ashutosh Gowarikar “Jodha Akbar” that is scheduled to be released on October 12.

Update: Reportedly Jodha Akbar won the Best Movie Of The Year Award at Filmfare Awards function that was held at Yashraj Film Studios. Unfortunately Aishwarya Rai didn’t get any award!

Ash & Abhi From Guru

Recently, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai were at Cannes. But for unknown reasons they were not present at the premiere of ‘Guru’, the movie of which they both are the leading actors.

Obviously, Mani Ratnam, the directory of the movie was not happy with their absecence.But still, the abscence of leading stars of the movie didn’t dampen the spirit and josh of the the premiere.

A close source of Ash says, “She is on a pleasure trip after a long time. Obviously, she didn’t want to think about work. The Guru premiere would have been followed by interviews and discussions. She has already interrupted her honeymoon for her earlier commitment to L’Oreal.”

To a great extent, it’s true that Aishwarya needed a much deserving break but stilll business ethics says something else.

Bollywood heartthrob Abhishek Bachchan and our very own stunning beauty, Aishwarya Rai were married this Friday in a ceremony that brought most of Mumbai to a standstill.

The Bollywood-besotted Indian city of Mumbai came to a standstill at the weekend as two of its biggest stars, emerald-eyed beauty Aishwarya Rai, 33, and Abhishek Bachchan, tied the knot.

Dubbed the wedding of the century by the Indian media, the festivities had many of the elements of one of the couple’s on-screen romances – riotous color, dance routines and melodrama. The celebrations ran over three days and included a Sunday visit to the Tirupathi Ventakeswara temple in the south of the country, where the couple partook of prasad or blessed food.

Aishwarya, a former Miss World, was breathtaking on that occasion in a hand-embroidered red and gold sari, with vermilion powder in the parting of her hair, and a necklace of black and gold beads. Her 31-year-old groom was dressed in a loose white tunic over baggy trousers.

The traditional festivities had kicked off on Friday with a private marriage ceremony at the Bachchan family home, where hundreds of well-wishers cheered the 31-year-old groom as he emerged astride a white stallion, his face covered by a veil of white flowers.

This was followed the next day by the vidaai, a ceremony in which the bride bids farewell to her parental home. With all the excitement of their big day over, the newlyweds have apparently jetted off to Venice, Italy for a month-long honeymoon.

This was the biggest and most talked about marriage of all times. And why not? It was Ash Abhishek, the Bollywood’s two biggest superstars, and world over known celebrities, getting married. So Aishwarya Rai is now finally Mrs. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Wow! That’s a relief. We, as always, wish Aishwarya and Abhishek, all the best in their lives. Wishing them a very happy and married life.

I tried myself, but they seem to be a great pair and i failed in all true sense. But i still think that Rishi Kapoor and Neetu make up the best couple whether off screen or on screen, followed closely by Aishwarya and Abhishek.
