Yeah, i know, it’s been dozen times that you might have heard that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is pregnant. There was always a false pregnancy reports over the years, variously triggered by sumptuous dinners, lack of exercise or an ill fitting dress. But this time, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is pregnant for real. It was confirmed by father-in-law Amitabh Bachchan.

On June 20th midnight, Amitabh Bachchan tweeted to his fans “NEWS NEWS NEWS !! I AM GOING TO BECOME A GRANDFATHER .. AISHWARYA EXPECTING .. SO HAPPY AND THRILLED !!!” So there is the confirmation by the Big B himself

It was just minutes that Amitabh disclosed the news, the family was flooded with congratulatory messages in both real and virtual worlds. “Overwhelmed with your wishes and blessings. 2843 new tweets in half an hour! Thank you all! Your affection and love is so touching” Amitabh Bachchan tweeted later.

Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan, who recently celebrated their fourth wedding anniversary, this April, will be expecting their first child. The pair thanked their fans on Wednesday evening. They said “We are very happy and would like to thank all our well-wishers for their love, support and blessings“.

Abhishek Bachchan, is running high on emotions as he admits last night, as he quotes “We’ve all been trying to inform all our close friends about it. How do I feel? It’s not sunk in yet. There’s been no time. We’re still busy sharing the news with our friends. The realization will come later. Right now I’m, kind of, numb. It’s a big moment, yes.”

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, feels quiet the same way however is much more composed. She said “I guess it couldn’t be kept quiet. So now you know why I’ve been trying to stay out of the public eye lately. It’s still to sink in, really. Of course, Abhishek and I are super happy. But it is a matter of happiness for our entire family. And that makes all the difference“.

Amitabh Bachchan’s next tweets were:
“The child of Abhishek and Aishwarya shall be the first Bachchan of the generation after my brother and me …” soon followed by another tweet with clarification saying
“Clarifying : Amitabh and Ajitabh , first generation Bachchan … then Abhishek and Bhim and now Abhisheks and Aishwarya’s …”

Priyanka Chopra too showed her excitement as she tweeted “Congrats. Awesome news! Lets make way for the legacy to go forward”.

Aishwarya Rai is currently in Madhur Bhandarkar’s project called Heroine which is supposed to be finished with 45 days. So anytime in November, the film shooting shall be completed. Will Aishwarya’s pregnancy effect the shoot. Well, apparently, there is no reason why it will effect. According to a source “Madhur is not worried about Heroine’s promotions or how Ash’s pregnancy will affect the film’s success. We shouldn’t forget that Ash is a popular and successful actress and her getting married didn’t affect her fan following. She enjoys a loyal fan following and it will not be affected by her becoming a mom.” He also said “Madhur is looking to release the film around November this year and the promotional activities will be planned to suit Ash. For sure, the soon-to-be mom will be pampered by not just her family but her directors and co-stars too on the sets.”

After “Heroine”, Aishwarya Rai will not be seen on Silver Screen for a long long time…

Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan are really traveling a lot these days. This is the third event function within this week that Aishwarya appeared at. The other two being GQ Awards in Kalina, Mumbai and later on at Georgio Armani’s Fashion Show at Milan.

Anyhow, Roberto Cavalli’s 40th Anniversary party at Les Beaux-Arts de Paris, France on September 29 and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan looked drop dead gorgeous in a silver Roberto Cavalli gown. It was just magical how she looked like at the function. Different hairstyle and bit of transformation from beautiful to smoking hot gal. She looked incredible. She was accompanied with Abhishek Bachchan and he looked debonair in his black suit. Anyhow, Aishwarya Rai looked resplendent and even Roberto Cavalli himself couldn’t stop from tweeting. He said on his twitter page “Aishwarya Rai is here, she’s beautiful!”

As for Aishwarya Rai, she wore a super sparkly fish scale gown with train. She accessorized with blue clutch with sparkly band detail, silver heels, and stud earrings. Her hair was styled in flirty curls with a middle parting. She wore smoky eye makeup and plum glossy lipstick.

After the fashion week at Milan, it is believed that Roberto Cavalli invited his closest friends and celebrities and associates at the gala dinner for 800 in Paris. Believe it or not, this event cost him close to $2 million. Phew!!! Now that’s what i call a partyyyyy. Roberto also announced his book at the occasion which is all about his 40 years in the fashion business.

Other big celebrities and stars that added grace to the party and wore their choice of Roberto Cavalli’s creations included Janet Jackson, Taylor Swift, Rachel Bilson, Heidi Klum, Karolina Kurkova, Leona Lewis, Bar Rafaeli, Naomi Campbell, Leigh Lezark and Natalia Vodianova.

The gorgeous couple Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan may not have been able to impress the audience with their last movie “Raavan”, but they certainly have made a statement when it comes to fashion and style with Aishwarya and Abhishek featuring on July issue of Vogue magazine.

I think it’s needless to say that Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan looks like a million bucks on the cover issue. And they certainly look extremely hot and spicy and sensuous. Ooooomph! I need some water!!!!

This, apparently is the first time Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek together had some photoshoot for any magazine. So congratulations to Vogue Magazine for convincing the couple for the photoshoot. And hey! Aishwarya and Abhi didn’t just pose for the saucy photographs, but also let their passion peak in the inner spreads of the magazine.

Abhishek mentions in the magazine “It feels like we’ve spent our entire lives together”. Of course, we can see that in you love Abhishek!

The couple are seen wearing clothes and accessories from major clothing brands like Burberry, Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci and Christian Dior, among few others. I specially like Aishwarya Rai’s outfit. Don’t ask me why.  I always like her outfits anyways.

Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek are not exactly known for letting their intimacy out on magazine photoshoots, but this time they seem to have made an exception. Just see the pics from the magazine and you be the judge

Alas! But it’s true. the so much anticipated Mani Ratnam’s movie “Raavan” was a major flop. It’s true that the movie was one of the most talked about film for Bollywood in 2010. But i guess this over-hype spoiled the fun and raised the fans expectation from the movie. Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan, although one of the most loved couples and big stars, failed to weave their magic in the movie.

I, for one, know that the “Raavan” stars Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and Abhishek Bachchan had worked their ass off for this film. They cancelled so many meetings, appointments and what not, so that they can give their 100 percent for the film. Despite the music guru A.R. Rahman magic and the awesome direction of Mani Ratnam, the movie failed to do well at Box Office or anywhere in world. If i had to blame one thing for the failure, i would say that it has to be the extra gimmicks and promotional crap that every crew member of “Raavana” had been doing for past 2-3 months. No doubt such gimmicks bring attention to a wide audience but when over-done, it also brings high expectations. Anyhow, i feel bad for the couple Aishwarya and Abhishek Bachchan. I know how heart broken they must have been to see the film do almost no business at all.

Such was the disappointment that an outraged fan lashes out his fury as he spits, “Abhishek is just not cut out for films. He is absolutely wooden. His movements are stiff, his face expressionless, his dialogue delivery flat. Not to mention his inability to dance or fight. He is neither goodlooking. Just being six feet tall doesn’t necessarily make one handsome. If not for his parents, Abhishek would have been working as a salesman in some merchant company, doing the rounds of Mumbai from morning to evening. Before he was getting films because of his father, now because of his wife. It is high time that such ‘ZERO-HEROES’ like him are completely thrown out of the film industry.” Oooomph! That was a little harsh i guess, blaming Abhishek for the failure. When a movie is not good, the whole cast and crew are responsible for it. It’s not right to play the blame game.

Amazingly, Reliance opened the film “Raavan” in some 2200 screens in 35 countries. That was a pretty big launch indeed. I am not sure how much the movie raked in, but many a movie halls claim that they didn’t see any house fulls after the first weekend. In fact at many halls, the movie didn’t even make it past the first week. I don’t know if these are rumors or not but i guess that’s what happened considering how much disappointed people really are.

I am pretty sure about one thing though. Aishwarya Rai is a beautiful talented actress. Abhishek Bachchan perhaps not as good as Aishwarya, but he still is in the top actors of the country. Mani Ratnam is a fantastic director as well. A.R. Rahman is a magician with music. So am pretty sure they all will strike back. It’s just one movie at the end of the day. They all will forget about it soon enough. But this definitely is the last time we heard about “Raavan”. I don’t think any “sequel” or “alternate ending” will be planned. Goodbye “Raavan”

It’s the world premiere of Mani Ratnam’s movie “Raavan” and the lovely couple Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan arrives in London in style. Legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan with wife Jaya Bachchan also came along at the premiere along with the director Mani Ratnam and music guru A.R. Rehman!

The Bachchan’s family along with the cast and crew of “Raavan” arrived at British Film Institute Southbank complex next to the River Thames in central London where they were treated with red carpet with lots and lots of fans arriving to get a glimpse of the stars.

Aishwarya Rai looked resplendent and excruciatingly beautiful in a heavily embroidered Sabyasachi saree. The saree was pretty good, but Oh My God! The blouse was really really terrible. She walked the red carpet with husband Abhishek Bachchan wearing a long sleeve, high blouse with a boat neck that awkwardly revealed a lot of midriff through the sheer pallav of the sari. We didn’t get the point of combining a very modest neckline with a very immodest hemline making the blouse look like something you could wear to the gym for a workout. :lol .

Her blouse sleeves were covered with heavy white floral embroidery. Aishwarya Rai, accessorized with a black studded purse, diamond drop earrings and multiple rings in both her hands. Her hair was retro styled in a face slimming bouffant updo. Her make up was also pretty much retro style: Pink lip color, metallic eye shadow and thick black extended eye liner.

Shah Rukh Khan, wife Gauri and their two children joined the Bachchans on the occasion, adding considerable star power to the event at London’s BFI Southbank cinema.
