A Decade ago, On July 26th, 1999, India won Kargil war, an event which holds a special place in every Indian’s heart. Aishwarya Rai‘s hubby Abhishek Bachchan covered an extra mile and paid a visit to the soldiers who in the most difficult situation are standing strong and protecting our country from the enemies. On 26th July 2009, Abhishek Bachchan pauid a visit to some war zones at Kargil and Drass. He met lot of Indian soldiers there in and had long chats with them. Surely his presence made many soldiers happy. But this wasn’t all. Abhishek Bachchan carried with him “Gajar Ka Halwa” (An Indian Dessets made from carrots) and “Aam Ras” (Another Indian Dessert made from mango fruit). These two delicacies were prepared by none other than Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and her mother-in-law Jaya Bachchan. Ahhh! I can’t even begin to think how happy that would have made our soldiers!

Obviously, whole of India paid homage to the martyrs of the Kargil war this sunday, but the Bachchan’s gesture of showing true support was fabulous. Abhishek Bachchan along with media channel NDTV remembered the sacrifice of the Jawans who gave their life for India in the Kargil war 10 years back. Abhishek also recited a beautiful poem titled “Agnipath” to the soldiers. The poem was composed by Abhishek’s grandfather, Mr. Harivansh Rai Bachchan, who was one of the best poets that India ever had. And when the whole Bachchan parivar is contributing, how can Amitabh Bachchan be left out. Big B left a special message for the brave soldiers which Abhishek read out when he was in Kargil. I’m so sure this would have been so much appreciated by the brave soldiers posted in Kargil and Drass!

As a true Indian, i think it’s our duty to respect our country and salute the brave soldiers that protect it from our enemies. I salute all the brave Indian soldiers who are fighting our enemies and protecting our country at all times. God bless you all!

Aishwarya And Abhishek At IIFA 2009

Posted By AishwaryaWeb on 19th June 2009

In the past post where i mentioned about our Star of Decade Aishwarya Rai and unveiling of Amitabh Bachchan’s wax model of Madame Tussauds Hong Kong, i have already added many images from IIFA 2009. It included Aishwarya Rai, Abhishek Bachchan and Amitabh Bachchan. The whole family except for Jaya Bachchan and i have no clue where she was, during the whole function. However i recently got some more pics from the whole festival of IIFA 2009. These set of images include the pics from the last day as well where Aishwarya Rai wore a lemon saaree and looked all the more gorgeous. I really really love her a lot. But i guess after her marriage to Abhishek, i need to respect the couple now rather than show off my one sided love. LOL  I’m just kidding obviously! They are the perfect couple and i really respect them.

Alright, so here are few more pics from the 2009 International Indian Film Academy Awards that took place on June 11th’2009 and went on till June 13th’2009 at Macau, China.

Aishwarya Rai will be soon off to The Royal Ascot Race Event at Ascot, United Kingdom. It’s a great British occasion and i am guessing Aishwarya’s new found taste in great clothing will make her the most talked celebrity at the event. Fingers crossed!

Aishwarya Rai Unveils “The Seven Wonders of India”

Posted By AishwaryaWeb on 6th April 2009

Just a few days back, Aishwarya Rai unveiled the seven wonder of India, in Delhi and the function was courtesy NDTV. The show was hosted by NDTV’S famous figures Abhigyan Prakash and Vikram Chandra. When they invited Aishwarya on to the stage, they described her “Another India wonder” which she undoubtedly is.

The function of “Unveiling the Seven Wonders of India” took place in Delhi where Aishwarya Rai, dressed in a traditional outfit, performed with Shiamak Davar and troupe for nearly an hour showcasing the colors, heritage and popular music of India. All to the beats of happening Bollywood’s music and songs. Aishwarya Rai looked absolutely stunning in the traditional attire and i have managed to put up some high quality images of her from the show and few other as well.

Aishwarya’s performance at the function was cheered up by the whole Bachchan family including hubby Abhishek Bachchan, father in law Amitabh Bachchan and mother in law Jaya Bachchan. Abhishek’s sister Shweta along with her husban Nikhil were also present in the function. I am not sure but i did hear that Aishwarya’s parents were also present to grace the occassion as well. Apart from the family, there were other popular celebrities as well like great actor Kamal Haasan, fashion designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee, Maharaja of Mewar Arvind Singh, Ustaad Amjad Ali Khan, politician Amar Singh and artists Paresh Maity and Satish Gujral.

A close source to Aishwarya’s family tols the newsline “The whole Bachchan and Rai family was quite happy to see the Aishwarya’s performance and also they were cheering up at Padma Shri awards but now all are back to Mumbai.”  I hope you do know about Padama Shri award that Aishwarya was awarded a day before this function. If not, then read the post >> Padma Shri award for Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. As for what the close source said, i guess the word “happiness” is an understatement. “Proud” would be a better word to describe the family’s feelings. And Aishwarya is making India proud time n again. So everyone should be proud of the bollywood’s queen.

Oh! By the way, it’s important to mention the outcome of the unveling seven wonder of India function. The seven wonders include Jaisalmer Fort, the ancient Nalanda University, Red Fort, Konark Sun temple, Dholavira, Khajuraho, and the Meenakshi Temple. There were two more religious places named along with 7 wonders of India. Those being Tawang Monastery and the Golden Temple. When talked about Golden Template with Jaya Bachchan, she said ” have visited the temple many times. You enter and something happens. It has a lot of energy and is very peaceful.” On the same subject when talked with Amitabh Bachchan, he said “Golden Temple was special because he was half Sikh”. I didn’t knew he was half sikh but if he says so, then it won’t b hard to believe. I personally have visited Golden Temple hundred of times. It’s like a second home to me, and yes, it is special. :)

Okay, moving on to some details about the  function, the seven wonders were chosen from a list of 220 sites. Prannoy Roy, the chairman and director of NDTV, said “This is a campaign to build awareness about what we have in our country, so that our monuments and heritage are looked after better and local communities are involved in conservation”. NDTV will be launching a a campaign to promote natural wonders of India, perhaps sometime later in April-June’2009. Anyways, let me know about your thoughts on Aishwarya Rai’s magical performance and herlooks in a traditional outfit. It;’s good to hear from Aishwarya’s fans once in a while. ;)

Padma Shri Award For Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

Posted By AishwaryaWeb on 2nd April 2009

Aishwarya Rai made the Bachchan and Rai family proud on 31st March’2009 when she was presented with Padma Shri Award 2009. Not only the families but i guess this is a proud moment for every fan follower of Aishwarya Rai. At least i am pretty happy for her. Padma Shri Award was presented by Pratibha Patil at the function in the Ashoka Hall of Rashtrapati Bhavan.

The Bachchan family seems to have all the reason to be happy. After all, the tag of the Padma Awards seems hard to be leaving from the family. Amitabh Bachchan himself is an awardee of Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan. His wife, Jaya Bachchan, is an awardee of Padma Shri, and father, Dr. Harivansh Rai Bachchan, had been conferred with Padma Bhushan. And now Ash simply adds another feather to the cap. Ahem! now that’s Bachchan’s family for you.

Besides Aishwarya Rai, our Bolywood’s real king, Akshay Kumar also got Padma Shri award 2009. He and wife, Twinkle, certainly had a great joy as well. Veteran actress and dancing queen of yester-years, Helen, was also bestowed with the Padma Shri for her contribution to art and cinema. Famous playback singer of yester-year, Shamshad Begum, and director of the central board of Reserve Bank of India, Ashok Shekhar Ganguly were among other prominent persons to get the prestigious award from the president.

Dr. Kakodkar received the Padma Vibhushan awards for his contribution to the field of nuclear science and technology.

Padma Awards, that is to say, Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri aka Padmashree are given for exceptional and distinguished service in any field including service rendered by Government servants.

Our heartiest congratulations to our queen of hearts, Aishwarya Rai and kind Akshay Kumar for this achievement. Truly well deserved. :)

Update:I did manage to get some scans of the beautiful actress being awarded the Padma Shri award. And some sphotos of others moments from the function as well. Hope you enjoy ‘em.

Aishwarya And Abhishek’s Dhun

I do believe that you all remember Mani Ratnam’s superhit movie “Guru”. Ace cinematographer Rajiv Menon captured some really beautiful moments between Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan in that movie. It still is one of my favorite movies, till date.

Rajiv Menon is now all set to direct a new movie, with Aishwarys Rai and Abhishek as it’s leading stars. So we all get to see the couple once again in a bollywood flick. That would really be a treat for many. This movie has been titled “Dhun“. Rajiv in a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama already confirmed as he said “Yes…Abhishek and Aishwarya are starring in my next directorial venture titled Dhun. It’s a film where music plays a very important role. The film goes on floors sometime in June this year.” So that’s it. June 2009, hot weather, grab some soft drinks, some popcorns and a seat in your nearby movie hall and watch “Dhun”. That’s one of the better ways to beat the heat ;)

However, the movie already went into some questioning by media as the rumors began that “Dhun” is pretty similar to Jaya Bachchan and Amitabh Bachchan starrer “Abhimaan“. I hope you all remember watching it. The storyline looks pretty much same as on now. But Rajiv Menon has already cleared that there is no similarity except the fact that the characters in his film also play musicians. Even Abhishek Bachchan supported his clarification on the fact that “Dhun” has nothing to do with “Abhimaan”. So that rumor should end now.

The film is coming from the production house of Eros International. But what interests me more is that the music will be provided by none other than the Oscar winner A.R. Rahman. Some people might be questioning if A.R. Rahman can recreate the magic in his music that we all heard and appreciated in “Guru”. I bet he can. He is an Oscar winner. And he is king of music. He surely will provide even better music for “Dhun”. Just can’t wait for the music release of the movie Dhun. :)

Honestly, i am really looking forward to the movie already. I just hope the movie has something good to offer to it’s audience. Specially after success of “Guru”, people might have high expectations from the movie and from the best couple in bollywood, Aishwarya and Abhishek Bachchan. Would love to see them on screen, once again!
