Aishwarya Rai and sweet hubby Abhishek Bachchan hit up the 2009 International Indian Film Academy Awards also known as the IIFA Awards at the Venetian Macao Hotel Resort on Thursday (June 11) in Macau, China.

I have been to Macau very recently and it is a beautiful place and surely a great venue. Of course with presence of ever so gorgeous Aishwarya Rai, the city of Macau must have been the best place to be in, on June 11th’2009. The IIFA awards 2009 journey continued up to 13th June when the major award ceremony function took place.

Aishwarya Rai walked the green carpet at IIFA awards 2009 in exuded style in a grey silk frock with mock neck ruched bodice and structured pleated skirt. She accessorized with black peep toe heels, diamond drop earrings, a gold bangle in her left arm, a black strap watch in her right arm and a glittery silver clutch. Her medium brown hair, styled in loose curls, draped her shoulders. Her makeup included glossy pink lipstick, golden eye shadow and lots of mascara. She really looked very pretty that night. Oh i could die to catch a glimpse of her!

Day one saw Madame Tussauds wax replica of Amitabh Bachchan at the Venetian Macao Hotel Resort which was sent by Madame Tussauds Hong Kong to honor the IIFA brand ambassador, Amitabh Bachchan. Aishwarya and Abhishek joined Amitabh on stage to be photographed with the replica. Let’s have a look at some of the pics from the green carpet and the replica photos…shall we?

Amitabh Bachchan inaugurated the 10th edition of the prestigious event by planting a lotus flower, the official flower of both India and Macau. I never knew about this similarity between the two. So some general knowledge passed on via entertainment. Amitabh mentioned about the attention brought to India by the Oscar-winning British movie “Slumdog Millionaire“. He added that India has as much talented people as found in other parts of the world. Indian creativity is in no way less than creativity from any other part of the world. He believes that there are many other stories and ideas which needed to be explored. One the stars of “Slumdog Millionaire”, Ashutosh Lobo Gajiwala said that Indian films are more dramatic and express themselves with more color than the Hollywood films. Ashutosh played the role of Slaim in Danny Boyle‘s tale of rags to riches.

Okay, Day three, June 13th’ 2009. It is time for the award function night. Guess what, Aishwarya Rai won two achievements award that night. Oh man, these were no small awards in fact they were even bigger than actress of the year of award. Aishwarya won the “Golden Decade” award for her memorable performances in the past 10 years, beating off competition from Rani Mukherjee, Preity Zinta, Kareena Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra. In other words, she was named as the “Star of the Decade“. Along with her, Shahrukh Khan was named as the “Actor of the Decade” which i guess he really deserved.

The second award that Aishwarya received is called “Outstanding Contribution by Indians in International Cinema“. It is a newly introduced award category this year. Aishwarya’s work in “Pink Panther 2” and “Provoked” has got her rolling in Hollywood tinsel town. She is the most talked about celebrity world over from Bollywood. Aishwarya shot to global recognition with few international projects recently and am sure many more projects will follow. Apart from Aishwarya, another recipient of this prestigious award will be our Oscar award winner music composer guru, A.R. Rehman. Nobody has forgotten his work in the big movie “Slumdog Millionaire”. Of course, we Indians know him well, since long for his other masterful work in previous movies.

By the way, Abhishek Bachchan also win an IIFA this year. He took the “Best Comedian” award for the gay themed movie “Dostana“. With his acting skills and his new matured looks, i do hope that we will see him in the Best Actor category next year around. Of course Mani Ratnam’s “Raavan” will give him that platform this year.

Alright, so this was great IIFA awards for Aishwarya Rai and am really happy for her. Hope the trend continue in years to come and she wins more and more awards.

Someone claimed these to be Paparazzi pics but they clearly do not have any clue what exactly the word “Paparazzi” means. Paparazzi is a plural term (paparazzo being the Italian singular form) for photographers who take unstaged and/or candid photographs of celebrities caught unaware. Paparazzi take photos of celebrities at moments when the subjects do not expect to be photographed, such as when they shop, walk through a city, eat at a restaurant or swim or lay on the beach.

Most websites will throw in so many unrelated words just to get you all excited and in the end you find nothing to meet your expectations. Anyways, moving on to the subject, first of all, these are not Paparazzi pics as you can see, both Aishwarya and Abhishek are perfectly aware that they are being photographed.

Secondly and much more importantly, Aishwarya Rai is looking angel in that lime lemony suit of hers. She really is very very beautiful. Okay without much ado, here are the pics that were taken recently in Bhopal, India.

Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan were in Bhopal for some personal reasons and this was to be their personal visit. Of course celebrities of such stature can’t find any privacy in there personal vacations. Pity!

It’s nothing new to see such a case of celebrities identity theft where in some fake lonely desperate guy/gal claims to be a celebrity and get loads of followers and users on various social networking sites such as Twitter. Someone recently made up a twitter account imposting as Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and started twittering some fake twits like “I have a secret that i would love to share with my twitter friends only” and stuff like that.

Aishwarya Rai has been getting hundreds of calls asking about her secret that she wishes to share. Of course it came as a shock to Aishwarya as she had no clue what the hell was going on. This unpleasant shock which earlier looked like a prank or another media bluff soon became very annoying as her friends and family and all people who had Aishwarya contact number started contacting her, asking for the secret. My God! I can only imagine how it went for Aishwarya in last few days. I do feel for her and and one can only imagine this celebrity stardom side effects

Apparently, The flood of calls began ever since the media reported recently that Ash is on Twitter and that she has written: “Planning to share a secret with my  Twitter friends… will update shortly.” I’m sorry but i have no idea which media published such a story without any proof.  Such medias are only creating nuisance and they should have double checked on that twitter account. Aishwarya Rai is not the first celebrity whose identity has been stolen. Apart from thousands of impostors for Hollywood celebrities, Amrita Rao, Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan have faced similar problems very recently.

Aishwarya Rai’s spokesperson confirmed that there is some fake imposting as Aishwarya Rai and twitting useless messages. He said “Aisharya was shell-shocked to know that someone who has faked her Twitter identity is posting messages on her behalf, promising to ‘reveal a secret’. Aishwarya does not have a Twitter account.”

So probably now you know that Ash is not twittering. So stop wasting your time in finding celebrity twitter accounts because most of the time you will end up finding fake celebrity imposters. We already get enough updates on Aishwarya’s news and movies and her being at various events. Why on earth do we need twitter account for Aishwarya to add more and more information!

Aishwarya & Abhishek Bachchan

Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan recently paired up as co stars for the much hyped Mani Ratnam‘s movie “Raavan“. After success of films like “Guru” people have accepted the real life couple in reel life as well. Undoubtedly they look a great pair together. These days their charm has taken over on film industry as well. The Ash-Abhi pair has been signed in again for an upcoming spy thriller film called “Crooked“.

The film “Crooked” will be directed by Abhinay Deo. He earlier mentioned that besides Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan, he also signed up Gul Panag, Jimmy Shergill and Boman Irani for the film. The film only has been named as “Crooked” tentatively. We will soon find out what all we can expect from the movie when the film production commences.

Apparently, the movie “Crooked” is believed to be inspired by the famous Matt Damon starrer movie “The Bourne Identity“. According to the producer of the movie, Ritesh Sidhwani “Our slick espionage thriller will be in the same genre as “The Bourne Identity”. It will be shot in Greece, Istanbul, Thailand and India“. Well those who have not watched the 2002 film “The Bourne Identity”, well here is the storyline of that movie “On a stormy night, the spy thriller opens as an amnesiac is rescued at sea by the crew of an Italian fishing boat. Nearly dead, he carries nothing but the bullets in his back and the bank account number embedded in his hip. Although completely without identity or background, he possesses an array of extraordinary talents in fighting, linguistics and self-defense that speak of a dangerous past. In the present he is disoriented and wary as he is propelled into an urgent search to discover who he is and why his life has taken a perilous turn.”

Ritesh Sidhwani also added “The English-language title will most probably change”. So sooner or later we will know the true title of the movie. Till then, i will refer to the movie as Crooked.

By the way, Abhinay Deo is currently wrapping up the comedy film “Delhi Belly“, starring Imran Khan and Shenaz Treasuryvala. And on the other hand Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan are trying to complete filming for Mani Ratnam’s “Raavan” shortly.

Because of all the hype about the movie “Raavan”, people now have high expectation from the movie. And if this movie goes onto become a major hit, then believe me, we are going to see plenty more of Aishwarya and Abhishek Bachchan together as couple in movies. Hopping for the best!

Cannes Film Festival that began on May13th ’2009 saw many famous celebrities from Hollywood and even more from international arena including our favorite Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. The Film Festival came to an end, few days back on May 24 after screening around 20 internationally praised movies of 2009. The prestigious Palme d’Or was awarded to Michael Haneke for his movie “Das Weisse Band” (The White Ribbon) during the Closing Ceremony of the 62nd Cannes Film Festival.

Anyways, you might have often wondered how do famous stars of tinsel town interact with each other. How do they greet, acknowledge and behave when they meet up at the corridors of their hotels. They will obviously bump into other celebrities at dinner tables or swimming pools or lobbies. I am not sure about any such experience. But i have a good image in mind.

Anyways, speaking of celebrities bumping into each other at such occasions, so such happened that Hollywood’s actress Eva Longoria, L’Oreal’s spokesperson Elizabeth Banks and our gorgeous Bollywood’s beauty Aishwarya Rai happened to be at the same time in the ladies room of some hotel at Cannes, France. A candid pic involving these three celebrities recently surfaced on the internet and it seems Aishwarya Rai and others are in lighter mood sharing some good laughs. It’s always nice to see such candid pics wherein celebrities aren’t posing for the camera for photoshoots or red carpets. This way we can see a glimpse of their lives of what they really are.

I have noticed that many people do not really know the meaning of the word “Candid”. First of all, no, it has nothing to do with words like “nude” or “naked”. The word candid actually means that it’s a camera capture where the subject is not staging for the pic. Probably a wikipedia definition will clear out the meaning of “Candid” in a better way. It says “Candid photography is photography that focuses on spontaneity rather than technique, on the immersion of a camera within events rather than focusing on setting up a staged situation or on preparing a lengthy camera setup.”
